Collaborating between industry, universities and the public sector

UKESF is programme that connects employers with students in schools and universities, promotes the electronics industry and its value to society and the economy, and raises awareness of the range of stimulating careers in electronics.

UKESF's sector-specific programme allows for employers in the electronics sector to engage with young people at school and university through to graduate employment, by sponsoring and participating in a programme that:

  • Offers talented 17 year-old school students the opportunity to attend UKESF Summer Schools to find out about degree study and careers in Electronic Engineering

  • Increases the number of employers in the sector and links them with high-calibre students for scholarships offering bursaries and practical experience of the industry through mentoring and work placements

,

UKESF was founded to secure a sustainable supply of quality and industry-prepared graduates and helps to attract, prepare and retain talent for the UK electronics industry.

We are part of the UKESF Go4Set project, Our Electronics Environment, which encourages school children to be enthusiastic about electronics.

This is a bespoke electronic engineering challenge for 12-14 year olds linking teams of six year 8-9 (England) and S2 (Scotland) students with employers and universities to offer a 10-week science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) project.
