I've set the dev kit jumpers exactly as described for the "changing advertising method" example. I've compiled the code for the target DA14531. Keil then says "No Cortex-M SW Device Found".

Thanks for your question. Can you please indicate if you are using the DA4531 SoC or the DA14531 TINY module?
对于微型模块,当尝试使用Keil对其编程时,当用户尝试打开调试器会话时可能会发生错误。为了解决这个问题,用户必须将JTAG时钟速度降低到2MHz。
In case this error occurs, please follow the steps described in Section 6.1 Keil JTAG default Clock Speed in UM-B-141 user manual to solve it.

This issue is not related to the SW example. If you are using the DA14531 SoC, there is no need to reduce the JTAG speed. As mentioned in my previous comment, this should be done only in the case of DA14531 module.

I found that the project Debug settings had the Max Clock for JLink as 5MHz. Changing it to 2MHz appeared to fix the problem. I can only assume that the example were not tested on the dev board for 531s. This has caused me quite a bit of frustration.
