technical question regarding development tool for DA9062
Posted bywolfgang.boedi…0 points 11 repliesOur customer is using the development kit for the DA9062.
He made his development with the tool and when finished the development he programmed the result in the OTP device of the DA9062.
He programmed the OTP version and he realized that the DA9062 did not boot by himself during next power up.
He used the OTP Programmer tool that is embedded in the SmartCanvas GUI
He used the function “load from Device OTP” and the results are identical with the data of the .ini file.
When using the function “Load from device register” complete different register values are shown. These values are identical when using “Load device POR defaults”.
The customer wants to run the DA9062 standalone.
Do you have any idea what the customer has to do to make the DA9062 run standalone on the board?? Is a failure in the ini file ? I attached the content of the ini file in the attached pdf file.
Any suggestions for the customer??
Thank you wery much for your assistance.
Regards
Wolfgang

Hello Wolfgang,
Thanks. How will the customer program the parts for production? e.g in-circuit programming or Avnet programming?
Kind regards,
ED

Hi Wolfgang,
could you send me the file in the .ini format?

Hello,
I will try my best. Only pdf files are allowed for upload. I changed the name to D9062_Modulrechner.ini.pdf.
I hope your system accept this.

Hi Wolfgang,
You can put it into a folder and zip it.

Hello Wolfgang,
I have had a quick look over the .ini file and have a few comments:
Config ID - This has been set to 0. This value must be greater than 0 or the device will not load in its OTP. This is probably what is causing the device not to start.
Regulators - All regulators have their enable bit set. When this is set in the OTP, all bucks and LDOs will turn on at start-up regardless of the sequencer. This can cause a drop in the input voltage due to inrush and cause the device to turn off. I would recommend setting the enable bits to 0, the regulators will then turn on with the sequencer. Depending on the load currents of each rail, i would also recommend staggering some of the turn on slots. The enabled bits can be used after start-up to turn on and off regulators.
Flags – SYSTEM_END, POWER_EN and MAX_COUNT have all been set to the same slot, these are states within the sequencer. These states can be toggled via GPIOs or I2C writes to control the sequencer, this adds some flexibility to Bucks/LDOs/GPIOs. I would recommend putting these into different slots.
Other registers - It would appear that some of the trims have been cleared. These cannot be edited via the customer now.
Kind regards,
Elliott

Hi wolfgang,
Due to the trims being cleared. I would recommend that the customer starts the .ini file again from a standard variant.
Not the old -A0 ini file.
let me know if you need any more help. We have a schematic review and unused pin document which are excellent starting points for schematic review.
Kind regards,
ED

Hello Wolfgang,
This is the public forum. I will move it to the Avnet forum.
Kind regards,
