Accessing raw accelerometer & gyro data on DA1468x from Android app

We're writing an app that uses raw accelerometer and gyro data from the DA14681. Is there a way to access the raw data through BLE? Perhaps through the Dialog Wearable Service?

Thanks for your help

Hi johndefalco,

Hi johndefalco,

Indeed, the profile Dialog Wearable Service (DWS) provides raw and calibrated sensor data and sensor fusion data, so you can obtain the data from sensors directly from that service. The reference design code implements the DWS service as the IoT (of the 583 reference design) with minimum changes that are documented in the UM-B-076 Wearable Development Kit Software Manual.pdf (paragraph 6). For additional information on how to interpret the data structure of every characteristic of the service please also have look at the UM-B-063 DA14583_IoT Sensor Development Kit.pdf in paragraph 6 (Dialog Wearable Service).

非常感谢

非常感谢response. Please provide a link to download the reference design source code for the 583.

Hi johndefalco,

Hi johndefalco,

You will be able to find the source code fw of the IoT in the Reference design section of the 583 on the support site.

Thanks MT_dialog

Hi Marios, are we referring

Hi Marios, are we referring to the IoT sensor kit or the DIalog Wearable 14681 app ?

Hi JE,

Hi JE,

Well the initial post was for the 68x Wearable design, but the Sensor Fusion / Accel-Gyro-Mag (DWS) service is introduced and far more explained in the 583 documentation. johndefalco asked for the source code of the 583 fw in his last post as far as i understand.

Hi johndefalco

To better explain my self, the DWS service is used:

  • in the Wearables 68x Reference design
  • and the IoT 583 reference design,

Different SoC's with incompatible software and SDK's, the only reason i refered to the 583 IoT reference design while the post was about a 68x is because the DWS service has a far better explaination in the 583 IoT documentation (the UM-B-063 document i ve mentioned above) than the documentation of the 68x reference design. So in that document you will find an explanation of the characteristics that the DWS service and how the structure of the data is. Also in the User Manual of the Wearable 68x (UM-B-076) there is a reference to the UM-B-063 for the explanation of the DWS service. So to better grasp the concept and struture of the DWS service the 583 documentation is more usefull.
