RTC for External MCU

We are using the PAN1740 which includes a calibrated 32.768KHz xtal with the DA14580.
We have an external MCU with no xtal.
We would like to know if it is possible to use the calibrated xtal in the DA14580 as the source of an RTC, while still allowing the DA14580 to go into extended sleep mode.
If this is possible, how would we need to configure it?

Thanks,
Paul.

Hi pvmellor,

Hi pvmellor,

The XTAL32 isn't accurate enough in order to be used as an RTC clock, there will be drifts in your time measurements. You can have a look at this ticket in order to read time from the 580 but again this will not be accurate enough for an RTC.
