I am new to this Development Kit. When I am trying to follow the steps on the user manual on UM-B-25, I come across some problems.
When I open Tera Term as stated on the manual, step 6.1.12, mine shows "COM70: JLink CSC UART Port (COM70)", instead of "COM26: USB Serial Port (COM26)" on the serial port option.
I am using the basic DK with Keil uVersion 4. Nothing is shown on Tera Term VT when I am in step 6.1.18. Any I would do to solve the problem? Is it because the version of Tera Term downloaded?

Hello Garyli, the COM port will be chosed by your PC and will assign a com port. What you should see in your device manager is below - sounds like that is correct (detects the JLINK device). Then , in the teraterm window, you should be able to select that COM port and then assign settings . I'm using version 4.83 Ttermpro ..

Do you have smart snippets running ? that might use same com port : opens com port to download and then closes it if you have it on UART only. If you're downloading over JTAG, not an issue.

In the Device Manager session, I would find my JLink CDC UART Port(COM70). On the SmartSnippets, it recognizes COM70 under and UART mode, and detects the Serial Numb. under JTAG mode.
There are couples of questions raised. I downloaded Keil uVersion4. As I followed the manual guide, UM-B-025, I got problems on step 6.1.7. I could not open the setting window. I have0 tried to install Keil uVersion4. And I have browsed the forum and I have followed the steps stated in the UM-B-014 Appendix A. The problem still exists.
The other problem would be on the same step. Last time when I successfully open the setting window, I could not select SW port nor any option. There is only JTAG shown on the Port session. There is nothing selected in the JLink/J-Trace Adapter. Did I install the Keil wrong??

Hello GaryLi, there have been quite a few reports of challenges with Keil - often also related to Keil crashing when trying to select the debug settings.
When you say you get to step 6.1.7 - what happens ? does it crash (hang-up) .
I recently installed Keil 5.11.1.0 after a new HDD on my machine. Latest Keil 5.13 would not load the legacy pack, so i had to go online and find an earlier versoin (5.11.1) and install the latest DFP to that.

When I click the Setting bottom on step 6.1.6, no window pops out for choosing SW port, which is shown on 6.1.7. No crash occurs. It just sits still. I have tried to reinstall the Keil uVersion4. And the problem could not be solved. What could I do to get this working?

Hi Gary,
We have other colleagues using Keil 4 and did not see your problem. I would suggest you uninstall your Keil, delete all files in previous Keil folder and re-install. If possible, please upgrade to Keil 5
