Charger NTC Protection -- power pin selection

Hi,

We would like to utilize the Charger NTC Protection feature of the battery recharge system on the DA14680.

The datasheet (Section 4.1.6 Charger, page 37, CFR0011-120-00-FM Rev 5) states:
"Note that, the use of the charger requires P1_4 as a power pin and P1_6 for controlling the NTC if required (as shown in Figure 21)."

Given our intended board layout, it is inconvenient for us to access P1_4. We wondered if there is an option to utilize a different GPIO for the "power pin" purpose in the NTC voltage divider circuit, and if so, how it should be configured (which power rail to use)?

Thanks,
Michael

Hi SD_Michael,

Hi SD_Michael,

The pins P1_4 and P1_6 are used for the NTC protection of the battery, you wont be able to reassign the functionallity to other pins, there is dedicated h/w for this functionallity assigned to those pins.
