GAPC_CONNECTION_CFM

Hello,

我想知道有什么影响的“身份验证”field in the GAPC_CONNECTION_CFM message has on slave device behavior given a system with "just works" pairing. RW_BLE_GAP_IS doesn't provide this information.

The CONNECT_IND from the master will soon be followed by a Pairing Request from the master. At that time, the slave application will return the value of the "auth" flag to the master in the Pairing Response.

Does the value of "auth" in the GAPC_CONNECTION_CFM matter in this case?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi JamesHierbert,

Hi JamesHierbert,

The GAPC_CONNECTION_CFM message is not a message that will eventually go through the air and notify the central about the security settings of the peripheral, this is an internal message that will prepare the lower levels of the stack and configure them accordingly to the authentication level that the device requires for its characteristics for the specified link. In general the GAPC_CONNECTION_CFM can be send at any time during connection in order to update the authentication requirements of the device, for example in the default functionallity of the SDK it is send once with the value of zero if its an unknown device upon the connection indication and then updated upon the reception of the encryption request indication or if its an allready bonded device the auth will be populated from the security enviroment.

Thanks MT_dialog
