The future of charging

As the world has become ‘smarter’ we carry with us a whole host of battery powered devices – smartphones, tablets, headsets, fitness monitors, even glasses – and that number continues to grow. Standardization helped reduce the number of dedicated chargers we need, but it is smart wireless charging that offers us significantly more convenience by simultaneously charging multiple devices without having to plug them in.

Rezence™ and Bluetooth® low energy

With wireless charging there are a number of different charging technologies. But what makes A4WP’s (Alliance for Wireless Power) Rezence™ technology unique is that it reliably controls the charging process using Bluetooth® low energy as the smart charging communications link. That means numerous devices can use the same charging station concurrently, without the communications between individual wireless power receivers and charging surface being overpowered.

Our fast start up solution

As the world’s smallest, lowest power and most integrated Bluetooth® low energy solution, Dialog’sSmartBond™family is ideally suited to wireless charging. For example the DA14581 enables the Power Transmitting Unit (PTU) to track up to 8 separate connections without any interference. And in the Power Receiving Unit (PRU), its fast boot time and low power requirements enables instant communications even when booting from a ‘dead’ battery.
